Advice with my Fire Belly salamander/newt please?

He is probably shedding, and thats the gooey stuff. I have one of these guys and no, he won't eat bloodworms. I thought he was eating my feeder fish until i realized it was my mudskipper instead. These little guys love crickets. I bought one of those giant pairs of tweezers and the small crickets at petsmart and my guy is thriving now. He even gets up on two legs when he sees the tweezers coming near the tank. otherwise, he doesnt really move. he's been sitting on the same rock for two months now and only very rarely gets off. as for the sharp bulge, its possible his ribs might be broken. theyre so small and very fragile. but try to get him some crickets and hopefully he'll do well for you
