Spooky youngster help please ?

hi there i have worked in a race yard and i have been breaking in the horses where i used to work and i all ways talk to them letting them know i was there and just being quite just take your time and don't rush anything when u put a saddle on his back let him or her smell the saddle cloth and slowly put the saddle cloth on then let him or her smell the saddle and slowly put it on and take it off and back on again i wish i could help u a bit more but my arm is hurting due to a bad horses accident.
