Lord of the Rings conquest not working?

I just got Lord of the rings conquest for PC and whenever i load it and hit training to start the game it plays the mini cutscene in the beginning but then the game automatically shuts down and my laptop says that there is an error and windows will notify me if there is a solution. Then my laptop promptly freezes and I have to shut it down. Is the game broken?
