Computer and dvd help?

my hp computer wont play the mini dvds. You know, the ones you make with a vid cam. When im finishing making the mini dvd, i put it into my computer and it says its the wrong file. WMP wont even play it. and the dvd doesnt fit very well into the slide thing where u put your dvd. It keeps falling out. How do i fix this?
